About The Webinar

Cats are often admitted with only a brief history of being lost for a few days and having returned with reduced mobility and other signs. The independent nature and curiosity of many cats lead to risky situations. Road traffic accidents, high-rise syndrome or trauma from bite wounds are commonly encountered in a clinical setting and may cause severe and multiple injury to the musculoskeletal system. In fact, most feline orthopaedic conditions are traumatic in origin. A systematic and knowledgeable approach is critical to successfully diagnosing and treating these patients.
In this very practically oriented webinar, we will assess, together, clinical case examples of cats with traumatic orthopaedic conditions and review the current knowledge and evidence on diagnosing and treating feline musculoskeletal trauma. I will discuss critical steps, techniques and tricks of work-up and treatment to help avoid complications and optimise outcomes.

At the end of the webinar, you will be able to
Describe and recognise the clinical features of cats affected by musculoskeletal trauma
Discuss the decision-making process in planning the treatment of feline trauma patients
Recall critical steps of diagnosis and treatment
Propose a rehabilitation plan for cats after orthopaedic trauma
Devise a plan on how to address possible complications associated with traumatic musculoskeletal conditions
