About The Webinar

The purpose of this webinar is to refresh the knowledge of both qualified and student nurses on how to provide effective intravenous fluid therapy and the clinical reasons for our choices. The aim is to ensure that nurses understand why patients are on fluids, why they are on the fluid selected and the decisions around selecting appropriate infusion rates.
The webinar will discuss the indications of fluid therapy and how we decide to begin the process. We will look at the fluids available and the selection process when determining which fluids are most appropriate for our patients. Within this section we will look at appropriate fluid rates, how these should be altered and the assessments we make to help determine this.
Finally we will look at the effective ways in which we can administer fluids and manage our fluid therapy patients.
