About The Webinar

The clinical condition feline pancytopenia is characterised by a deficiency in all three vital blood cells, lymphocytes (neutrophils), platelets and erythrocytes. Clinical signs are therefore both varied and life threatening, and early recognition is vital for improved treatment success. Until recently, feline pancytopenia in its primary form, has been a rare presentation to practitioners. Sadly 2021 delivered a saddening outbreak of the condition in the UK, leading to increased awareness and the use of several anecdotal treatments. Together we shall explore the varying components of the condition, patient presentation and risk factors for disease. Diagnostic sampling and available treatment options will be considered alongside supportive care required to nurse affected patients with the aim of minimising stress and promoting gold standard care.
