About The Webinar

This webinar is focused on the aetiology, diagnosis and management of osteoarthritis in cats. Although feline osteoarthritis is not commonly the primary complaint we hear from clients in our daily practice, its prevalence is actually high, especially in senior individuals. Less evident clinical signs in feline pets is an important reason why this pathology may remain undetected for longer. Additionally the difficulty in performing and interpreting our orthopaedic examination in cats makes the diagnosis more challenging. Long-term management of feline patients with osteoarthritis needs to be adjusted to the less collaborative nature of these animals. During this hour we will cover the etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation and diagnosis of degenerative joint disease in cats. We will discuss the options available for long-term management of OA in this species, and the evidence available. The role of weight management, rehabilitation, nutraceuticals, diets, among others, will also be discussed.
