Gastrointestinal disease in cats and dogs is common and it can be can be complex to decide how best to manage cases. This Webinar will explain how to evaluate a case and work out how best to feed the individual from basic principles.

After a brief review of the gastrointestinal tract and basic nutrition the Webinar will address how to apply the basic principles of clinical nutrition to GI Disease and to determine what the energy , protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamin, mineral and water requirements are for a given case, and how best to supply them. It will also consider voluntary intake versus assisted feeding and summarise with a consideration of available specially formulated complete diets and the use of nutritional supplements.

By the end of the Webinar participants should feel confident about the recommendations that they make for patients with gastrointestinal disease.
