About The Webinar

This webinar is relevant to all nurses who take electrocardiograms (ECG), and would like to understand the trace it gives, and relate that to nursing care. It will start with how to take a trace, and why we take them. It will then provide a basic understanding of what ‘normal’ is, and discuss what happens at each stage of the conduction cycle. A systematic approach for interpretation will then follow, using a simple set of guidelines, which when put into practice, will make interpretation easier. This webinar will cover common arrhythmias seen in practice, such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and atrioventricular block, and look at some common reasons why they might occur. Appropriate nursing action will be discussed, focusing on when immediate veterinary attention is required. At the end, any questions will be answered, providing you with everything you wanted to know about ECGs.
