About The Webinar

Small pet mammals (rodents, rabbits and ferrets) can host a large variety of ecto-and endoparasites that can be associated with a range of clinical signs, from dermatitis and otitis, to diarrhoea. Underlying stress or poor husbandry are important factors in the development of disease associated with these parasites. Routine prophylactic anti-parasitic treatment is not frequently carried out in many of these pets, and it is important to be familiar with the common parasites encountered, and how to diagnose, treat and prevent them. This webinar will describe the common parasites of mice, rats, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits and ferrets, and will outline how to deal with affected animals effectively in general practice.
