About The Webinar
Pyoderma is a very common reason for dogs to be presented to small animal clinicians and when recurrent, causes a great deal of frustration to both the pet and owner. It is almost always secondary to an underlying cause. The correct diagnosis of the pyoderma, underlying disease process, management and prevention of relapses is essential to prevent increasingly resistant populations of bacteria colonising the pet. Antibiotic stewardship is a hot topic within the veterinary profession and topical antimicrobials can be very useful to reduce systemic antibiotic use. Today’s webinar will cover the following subjects:
• Underlying causes of pyoderma
• Pyoderma classification and Clinical presentations
• Importance of cytology
• Recent guidelines for treatment of Superficial bacterial folliculitis
• Indication for topical therapy for pyoderma and MRSP
