Dental disease in rabbits is an extremely common condition which is both underdiagnosed and over diagnosed. This presentation highlights the normal dental anatomy of rabbits and how this relates to the development of dental disease. The underlying causes of dental disease are multifactorial and often preventable. You will learn how to focus your history and physical examination findings to diagnose dental problems. The importance of diagnostic imaging and how to take and interpret radiographs to determine correct treatment and prognosis. Included are some of the most common pathology encountered. Treatment options including equipment and potential complications and limitations are also discussed. Included is advice you can give clients to avoid dental disease in their rabbits in the future.
