About The Webinar

The topic we will be discussing will be Diabetes mellitus in the dog. We will begin the presentation by looking at a classification of what Diabetes mellitus is and will look at the pathophysiology of the disease.
We will then look in turn at causes, signalment, clinical history of patients and will discuss the diagnostic procedures needed to reach a diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus.
In the next section we will look at treatment firstly of the newly diagnosed patient and secondly at treatment for the patient who presents in Diabetic Keto acidotic crisis.
Finally, we will examine complications that can arise with dogs diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus and how these can be avoided
