About The Webinar

Coagulation abnormalities can be frightening conditions to deal with in practice due to the complexities of the coagulation system, and the speed at which they can become life threatening. In this webinar we will cover both congenital haemostatic disorders in cats and dogs (such as Von Willebrand Disease, Haemophilia and Factor XII deficiency) and acquired disorders (such as thrombocytopenia and coumarin intoxication). The focus will be on how to differentiate primary from secondary haemostatic disorders based on the presenting clinical signs, and how to choose the correct test, and apply that information logically to clinical cases.

In addition, treatment options for some of the more common coagulation disorders such as thrombocytopenia and coumarin intoxication will be reviewed, including transfusion medicine and blood component therapy.
