About The Webinar

The number of chickens kept as pets is increasing, with welfare groups rehoming large numbers of ex-commercial laying hens. Chickens are kept for private egg production/consumption, breeding or exhibition or as “fancy” birds, small layer or meat bird flocks, or as pets. Owner’s experience varies from competent to complete novice. For pet poultry unfortunately local vets are often consulted late on in the disease course. This webinar with discuss history taking and clinical examination of pet chickens. It will also outline the common conditions diagnosed in pet chickens, their diagnosis and treatment options.
