About The Webinar

In this webinar we will discuss how to recognise seizure activity and will cover important definitions relating to epilepsy (some extrapolated from dogs). We will review a diagnostic approach to the seizuring cat and consider neurological deficits we might see in a patient with intracranial disease as a cause of seizure activity. We will then move on to consider some of the causes of seizures we see more commonly in cats in the UK, including feline infectious peritonitis, LGI-1 autoantibody mediated limbic encephalitis and idiopathic epilepsy. In the last part of the webinar, treatment options for both emergency seizure management and long-term seizure control will be reviewed with a particular focus on management of status epilepticus.
