About The Webinar
The order Rodentia is very large and diverse, comprising a variety of species ranging from a few grams (e.g., mouse) to a few hundred kilograms (e.g., capybara). Only few of these species are seen in private practice but are nowadays very commonly kept as pets. As rodents are prey animals designed to conceal signs of illness. This means that when they do finally show symptoms, their condition is usually more advanced than expected. In order to keep them in tip-top condition is therefore important to be able to recognise problems early. Small mammal medicine is rapidly evolving as client increasingly demand a higher standard of veterinary care for their pets, regardless of their size. Checking these patients regularly and carefully means you will soon become familiar with their normal anatomic features, their eating habits, behaviour, and general body condition and you will be able to recognise abnormalities more readily. This webinar will cover the clinical approach and common clinical techniques for non-traditional companion animals, increasing your confidence when seeing these cases in everyday practice.
