About The Webinar

Traumatic injuries to the hock and pes are relatively frequently encountered in canine and feline veterinary practice. Developmental disease is limited to osteochondrosis and acquired disease is limited to proximal intertarsal subluxation. This seminar will begin with a refresher of the anatomy from the talo-crural joint to the tarso-metatarsal joints. A number of relatively common orthopaedic diseases will be discussed including fractures and luxations in dogs and cats, canine talar osteochondrosis and superficial digital flexor tendon luxation. The aetiology, diagnosis and management options for these conditions will be covered, giving a broad overview of orthopaedic disease of the distal hind limb. Emphasis will be on an evidence-based approach to treatment with the aim of helping decision-making for individual cases in the clinical environment.
