About The Webinar

Spontaneous bleeding can occur for a variety of reasons and is a life-threatening presentation that requires:
1) Rapid recognition that haemorrhaging is occurring
2) Localisation of the source of bleeding or mechanism that is resulting in haemorrhage
3) Effective management to stabilise the patient

This emergency webinar will focus on the most common diseases that will present as an acutely bleeding patient and how commonly available practice resources can be used to achieve a working diagnosis at least sufficient to deliver rational and effective treatment. The appropriate use of blood and blood products will be discussed as well as how to maximise the value of blood tests and imaging undertaken. Available evidence and experience will be presented to support owner communication as bleeding cases can have an uncertain outcome yet initial management can be expensive.
