About The Webinar

Arrhythmias are more common in small animal practice than is often appreciated probably due to the under use of ECGs. Appropriate anti-arrhythmic therapy can be life saving in some cases and significantly improve the quality of life in others. They can be indicators of non-cardiac disease leading to more rapid diagnosis of, for example, splenic masses.

This webinar aims to cover four main areas

  • Getting a good ECG and interpreting the results
  • Decision making on investigation and treatment of arrhythmias
  • Which anti-arrhythmic drugs should I keep in the practice and what arrhythmias will they treat
  • Chronic anti-arrhythmic therapy

Examples of common arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, atrioventricular blockade and ventricular ectopic beats will be shown and the decision making process from auscultation to treatment discussed.

The objective of the webinar is to encourage participants to go looking for arrhythmias in their patients with the confidence that they have a clear, logical diagnostic and therapeutic strategy to enable them to manage what they find to the benefits of their patients and the practice.
