About The Webinar
In the veterinary patient, sepsis can present in a number of forms and often anaesthesia is required to control the source of infection. Stabilisation of the septic patient is a dynamic and essential step prior to proceeding to anaesthetising these patients. Fluidtherapy, analgesia, antimicrobial therapy and often pressor therapy are crucial in this phase and will also play an all-important role during the anaesthestic period itself. Recognising the vital need of patient stabilisation and speed, understanding how to modify anaesthetic protocols for these patients, the need for in depth monitoring, and finally the importance of the post-operative care for the septic patients will be the focus of this webinar.
