About The Webinar

This webinar will introduce the condition Acromegaly (Hypersomatotropism) and its relationship with Diabetes Mellitus in cats. Still considered to be largely undiagnosed, this webinar aims to raise awareness of the condition and assist practitioners to recognise clinical signs associated with the disease and have the confidence to proceed with relevant diagnostics and accurate interpretation of results. This webinar will discuss pathophysiology of the disease including the relationship between growth hormone and other hormones, and the impact Acromegaly has on the body as a whole. Full discussion of relevant diagnostic modalities will be undertaken followed by discussion of various treatment options available, including detailed discussion on hypophysectomy surgery, the only curative option for these patients.
