Presenter: Gareth Arthurs PGCertMedEd MA VetMB CertVR CertSAS DSAS(Orth) FHEA MRCVS RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics)

Gareth Arthurs graduated from Cambridge University in 1996. He spent 4 years in mixed practice and then 3 years in general small animal practice. Since 2003, he has worked exclusively as a referral small animal orthopaedic surgeon. In 2004, Gareth returned to Cambridge University to study for the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics) which he achieved in 2007, the same year in which he gained RCVS Recognised specialist status. Gareth worked at the Royal Veterinary College from 2008 to 2012 as Lecturer in Small Animal Orthopaedics, where he also held a number of other responsibilities including Head of Orthopaedics, Head of Surgery, and Co-Director of the Small Animal Junior Clinical Training Scholarship programme. Gareth is active within the veterinary and orthopaedic communities and has served a number of organisations in a variety of roles including for the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association, South East Midlands Veterinary Association, BSAVA Petsavers and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Gareth has authored and co-authored scientific papers on a variety of orthopaedic subjects.
