Sam qualified in small animal general practice before spending the next 11 years working in several university and referral hospitals, where she gained the DipAVN(Med)in 2006 and VTS (Anesthesia) in 2007.

Most recently Sam worked as a dedicated anaesthesia nurse and then as head theatre nurse at The University of Cambridge.  In 2014 Sam joined The College of West Anglia as lecturer in Advanced Veterinary Nursing and Course Director for the BSc(Hons).

Sam’s main interests include anaesthesia and surgical nursing with particular interests in patient safety in anaesthesia, surgery and recovery, infection control and acute and chronic pain.
