Session 1
Pancreas, Adrenals & Prostate
- Easy step-by-step guide to locating the pancreas, left and right adrenal glands and the prostate
- Become familiar with the normal appearance of these organs
- Recognise the ultrasonographic features of some of the more common conditions associated with these organs including pancreatitis, adrenal masses and prostatic neoplasia

- Learn how to use Colour Doppler Ultrasound
Session 3
Portosystemic shunt evaluation
- Review the basic theory of the different types of portosystemic shunt in dogs including both congenital and acquired portosystemic shunts
- Principles of interpretation of portal vein size and flow with respect to the shunt hunt
- Specific examples of some of the more common types of shunt will be given with the use of both ultrasound and computed tomography

Sally Birch
BVSc (hons) CertAVP Dip ECVDI MRCVS
European and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Sally graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007 and spent the following four years working in small animal practice in the West Midlands.
During this time she developed a keen interest in the use of ultrasound and as a result, undertook a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with an emphasis on imaging. Sally completed a residency in veterinary diagnostic imaging at the University of Bristol in 2014.
During this time, she published several papers and successfully passed both the Certificate and the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, attaining European Specialist status in 2014 and RCVS Specialist Status in 2016. Sally currently works at Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service in Solihull.
